Hello, my name is David and I'm a collector.
I’m a collector of toys and have been for decades. I'm not currently at the peak of collecting, but I have amassed a substantial number of action figures, accessories, and die-cast vehicles. While I don't buy as much as I used to, I do still frequent the toy section and try to stay abreast of what's out there. My primary passion is science fiction, especially Star Wars and robots in their various forms.
I hope by sharing my collection, you'll be inspired to share yours as well. Let's talk about what's new and reminisce about toys gone by. Feel free to leave a comment or follow me on social media!
Super excited about the Lost in Space series on Netflix. Don't call or text me on April 13th! I absolutely loved watching the 1960s series when I was young. I was totally jealous of this kid having his own robot – ok, still am. And I'm completely fine with reboots as long as they are done well. I think they can help keep a story and characters alive, and in some cases, revive the original.
I don't think the 1998 movie version did either. In fact, the only thing I recall enjoying about it was Will's Robot, especially when controlled by Will... Robot's voice, "Mom says, get the hell out of there!" Of course, I went into it with low expectations and they were met.
The trailer for the Netflix series doesn't show us much, but at least it looks as if they took a serious approach. There appears to be some character updates, though we obviously don't get to see all of the main cast here since it shows them boarding the Jupiter One (if it's still called that) and not everyone got on board that way.
Of course, I was watching for the Robot, which we only get as a tease at the end with the classic line, "Danger Will Robinson." The voice that delivers that line sounds a bit more like it should be saying, "By your command," but I'm going to hod off on passing judgement for now. I haven't added a robot to my collection for some time now. I suspect there will be one in the near future.
Did cause me to pull out a few Lost in Space pieces I have in my collection.
My opinion of the 6 inch Star Wars Black Series figures announced for 2018.

Read MoreI received my first toy at a very young age. I have no idea what it was or what landfill it ended up in, but I’m sure it was wondrous. I’m also fairly confident that it went straight into my mouth, then to the floor, then likely back into my mouth again. Because kids are gross...
